Event Description | |
Javier Mendoza’s creativity and perseverance are easy to see in his evolution from a songwriter for Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin to a full-time singer, songwriter, and performer today. In addition to the various honors for Best Solo Artist, Best Male Vocalist, and Best Pop Artist from the RFT, Mendoza has worked with some of the best musicians in the region and shared the stage with the likes of Willie Nelson, Ben Folds, Santana, Indina Menzel, Los Lobos, and The Roots. “Estereotipo” is Mendoza’s newest side project featuring a crème de la crème of St. Louis Latin jazz artists like Dave Black on guitar, Marc Torlina on bass, and R. Scott Bryan on percussion. The group also includes the magnificent Pete Ruthenburg on piano and drummer extraordinaire Grover Stewart. Mendoza fronts this high energy, can’t stay in your seat ensemble, and performs songs written and arranged specifically for this Latin Jazz group. |
