Dent in body.

Hello, I'm new to this forum.

So. I dropped my alto and theres a dent on the top of the body.

Is there a way to fix this? The last thing I want to do is take it to the shop but if there

is no other way I guess I can do it.

When I play low notes (lower than G) it will play an octave up. Not sure if this is

related but it started around the same time.

Here are some picture (apologies on the bad quality)

That's not a repair you should try by yourself. You don't have the equipment, and dent repair is something that can cause more damage if done incorrectly. If you check carefully, I'll bet you will see that one or more of your palm keys is leaking as a result of this damage.

Couldn't agree more with Steve! Don't try this one at home. You'll likely knock out the octave pip and you'll leave lasting scars in the brass without proper tooling and training. Dent work is one of those repair techniques that is all about feel and knowing proper technique. Some people are really good at it and some just never get the hang of it after years of trying.
