Yamaha MK1 Neck problem

Has anyone experienced a problem with the top F# using the original neck ( I think. ) of a Mark 1 purple logo Yamaha tenor. I tried a Ponzol neck and found a great improvement with the top E. F & a perfectly strong and clear top F#. I can't see Yamaha producing such a neck with the purple Logo models, and think I may not have the original neck, but saying that, the Logo on the neck is indeed Yamaha and purple. Any thoughts welcome.

    My backup tenor is a Yamaha purple logo. I have no problems with it's factory neck and wouldn't replace it with an aftermarket neck...(especially not a Ponzol neck)....~)

      I'm using a Philtone Eqlipse. And find the Ponzol neck is better than the Original neck. More even throughout the range, and I don't need to humour the top notes.
