vintage National tenor sax

I own a small music store in south Georgia and a customer brought me an early National tenor sax to sell. I'm not a horn player but have seen a few old ones. Anyway I wonder if anyone could tell me anything about it. The only markings on it are National Elkhart Ind. USA and a serial number R3108. thanks! Dave

    Re: vintage National tenor sax

That's got to be a merchandiser-branded "stencil" horn.  If you post a series of pictures with good detail, someone might be able to tell you roughly when and by whom it was made.  Stencil horns generally don't have a lot of value.

If it's got an "H" or "high pitch" stamped on it, it cannot be played with modern instruments.  Such horns are best used for planters, sculptures,.....
