Body Vibration while playing a Bass sax

I have never had the opportunity to play a bass. saxophone.

I am wondering if playing the Bass sax produces a vibration that can be felt through

the body of a player.

Why, I had a friend who in his final 6 months of his life played quite a bit of bass sax.

Nothing he had done previously in his life.

He died from a stroke a number of years ago.

I'm wondering if the vibration of a bass sax on a relaxed player coud have dislodged the clot

 that killed him.

Re: Body Vibration while playing a Bass sax

Well, it's certainly possible that body vibrations can dislodge a blood clot. Even massage can be dangerous for someone with deep vein thrombosis. However, blood clots become dislodged all the time in people without any extra stimulation. I also doubt that the vibration from playing saxophone would produce enough physical stimulation to be a contributing factor, especially if he had already been a saxophone player before taking up the bass sax. The difference in vibration experienced between a playing a bass saxophone versus an alto or tenor is not that great. my guess is that it's just coincidence. But if you could choose your way to go, I'd take death by saxophone.

    Cheers,
