MEYER Brothers New York 6M Small Chamber Ralph Morgan Back to model

This is a Meyer Bros. New York small chamber hard rubber mouthpiece for alto saxophone. We received this mouthpiece from the original owner and it is in excellent physical condition. The mouthpiece features a small chamber, medium facing length and the highly desired narrow window and beak profile. It was originally stamped a 4 but was cleaned up by Ralph Morgan in 1988 and now measures just a hair under .075” making it equivalent to a modern 6. The facing profile of the tip, side rails and table are extremely pristine.

This piece is a very exceptional player. It gives a very balanced warm resonance across the whole range of the instrument. Response is very fast and the small chamber seems to add an additional clearness in the sound. It is a real treat to play a great vintage Meyer of this caliber. The modern pieces just can not match the overall response and clarity of a fantastic vintage hard rubber Meyer. Truly an amazing playing piece, perfect for the strait ahead jazz and lead work.
