Here is a real treat - a superb Selmer Super Balanced Action alto sax in original silver plating, serial number 55587. This horn is an extremely late vintage SBA from 1954, and comes with an original factory high F# key, making it exceedingly rare.

This sax is in incredible original condition. The original silver plating is over 98% intact, with just minor wear mostly on a couple touch points, such as the thumb rest. There are no past damages or repairs anywhere on this horn, including no dents or resoldered joints. The original neck is in perfect shape, has never been damaged, and shows almost no finish wear.

The sax looks fantastic, but unbelievably, it sounds better. The silver plating really warms up the sound, making it extremely rich and slightly darker, while retaining a very easy blowing nature.
