C.G. CONN "Portrait" Gold Plate "Abe Lincoln" (Serial Number: 158594) Back to model

This is a beautiful gold plated portrait model Conn Chu Berry alto sax, serial number 158594. This horn has a unique portrait of Abraham Lincoln engraved in the bell, and thanks to the mastery of Conn’s engravers at the time, the engraving, with matte gold plating inlay, is truly breathtaking.

Physically, this horn is near perfect. The gold finish stands at over 99%, with virtually no wear. It does have rolled tone holes, and a fingernail file G# key, and comes with the original Conn tuner neck. There are no dents, no dings, no resolders, and no past repairs. It is photo'ed in the original black Conn case.

The sax received a full Saxquest overhaul by Duncan Bamsey in 2005. It was given top grade Resotech flat metal resonators. It has a real warm open sound. It’s tone really envelops the listener.
