Tex Beneke Horn and Setup

I saw an old Glenn Miller movie entitled "Orchestra Wives" made in 1942. Tex Beneke had a big, smooth sound when he played. I think that he played Martins, he was using what looked to be a large chamber rubber mouthpiece. Anyone know what his horn and setup was in and around 1942? Best Regards Mactenor

It was my great honor to know Tex and work on his horns for him. Of course, I wasn't around in 1942 (I'm not THAT old!), but Tex told me he used Martin saxophones exclusively then. His favorite horn was a Committee II tenor, which was a gift from the Martin factory. I'm not sure I remember his mouthpiece, but I do think it may have been a Link.

I'm pretty sure he played a Martin committee II because in the movie "Orchrestra Wives" you see the horn and it says martin. Going up and down and the Martin committee II has that.
