C Sopramo Information?

Hi, I have a C Soprano saxaphone(I think) which I would like to know more about. It has some info stamped/engraved on it HORS CONCOURS PARIS 878-1889-1900 JEROME THILOUVILLE - LAMY 10 Charterhouse Pl LONDON MADE IN PARIS DULCISET FORTIS Special Class Can anyone shed some light on this saxaphone? Is it rare/common, cheap/expensive, what style of music is it for? Would love to know some more about it Thanks Derek

    I have no clue what the stamped words mean. I did hear, though, that C saxophones were more often than not used to accompany pianos during church services. That is something I have heard, so don't be surprised if someone says I'm wrong.
