Carl Fischer New York C-26226 Questions

Recently was given a saxophone. I myself know nothing about the saxophone. I was told that it was quite a nice vintage saxophone-- real pearl button and the works. Couldn't really find much about its worth online-- Any ideas?

Re: Carl Fischer New York C-26226 Questions

Carl Fischer is a music publishing company in New York. They've been around for over a hundred years. They publish some of the classic saxophone methods as well as for other instruments. They used to have stores that sold their books and instruments. They are stencils from other makers like Conn, Buescher, etc. However, they are really not worth much on the vintage market. A collectible maybe, that's all.

However, it might be fun to play! Should be able to play right along with piano, organ, guitar, etc., as from the name I'm guessing this is a C-melody.
