You might want to check into Sata (German made). I've had one for years and it has a very fine spray . General rule of thumb is the more holes in the nozzle the finer the spray and thus the better the gun. HVLP (high volume low pressure) if you have the compressor for it will cut down on overspray.

tenoradict - my search for spray guns has left me with choices of tips, 1.4mm,1.8mm and 2.0mm. Could you suggest a tip size that works best for saxophone lacquering?
