Tenney Tone Edge for Alto

I'm thinking about ordering one of these- I (sort of) like my slant link 5* on Alto, but it's too stuffy and quiet in a performance setting- are these any different in that regard? I'd probably go up to the 6* or 7*. Any other MPC suggestions would be great, too. Thanks!

A lot of it may be the wimpy size. Definetly go to 6* or 7*. The 6* should be sufficient, you don't want an airy sound, and you don't want to jump more than a full size at once. The Tone Edge is pretty good.

I used to have a 6* that was a good cross-over legit/jazz piece. Definitely not stuffy. I don't know what Tenney does to the pieces to make them better than stock.
