Robert Verdi has an original Buffet contrabass. Rick Izumi has an original Buffet contrabass. A pawn shop in Rome had a Kohlert but I don't know who bought it...

I believe there is a link to his email address on his site, and to the same question on a different post, yes we are very good friends. I bought my Bass Sax from Jay :o) There are still pictures of it on his website though under the Bass Sax page, it is the Buescher.

it isnt that hard (not to answer for you or anything.) - I could set my self up with about 30 exotic saxes right now - if I had 90,000 dollars or so. Its the really rare stuff that is hard to get - like a leblanc rationale C-mel, or pretty much any adolphe sax, or the first american sax or the conn-o-sax etc.

There's a fully restored Adolphe on sale on this site for 7500 bucks. The one you saw on Ebay was most likely fake, even the shell of an Adolphe...no...even the CASE of an adolphe sax is worth more than 120 dollars.

I forgot, I am pretty sure interlochen has a contrabass too.
