Selmer Tenor Sax - Omega or no?

Hi,

I have a Selmer tenor saxophone that I have been trying to identify. Selmer-Conn's website is no help, as they don't list the serial number on my sax.

It is a Selmer USA sax, serial number 823xxx, and my best guess as to when it was manufactured is late 80's/early 90's. It has mother of pearl keys and a sort of flowery design on the bell that says "Selmer USA"

Preliminary research on ebay leads me to believe this is an Omega 164, but I could very well be wrong. Here's a couple of (not so great) pics.

Help! Does anyone know what kind of sax I've got here? I'm a flute player mainly, so I know almost nothing about quality of tenor saxs.

Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

you have a Selmer USA 164 Professional Tenor saxophone. The first run of the 162 alto sax (820xxx--821xxx) with the high f# brass key was the only one that was called an Omega. Your sax was probably built around 1986. You have a great sax. The famous boots randolph played one.
