New Yamaha Bari 52 or Used Selmer Super Action 80 II?

New Yamaha Bari 52 or Used Selmer Super Action 80 II?

I’ve been in the market for a sax for quite some time, and after kicking around if I wanted to go with an alto, tenor, or bari, I’ve decided to stick to my roots and purchase a bari.  I’ve played the YBS-52 for 6 years and loved everything about it.  Great ergonomics, response, tone, and bark.  However, I’ve never picked up a Selmer.

I have the option of buying a new YBS-52 or a used Selmer SA 80 II in great condition for the same price.  I don’t hand the luxury of playing both bari’s side by side to do a comparison.  Has anyone played both the YBS-52 and Selmer SA 80 II, or even the YBS-62?  Do you recommend one over the other?

Thanks

Get the Selmer. It's a better horn to begin with, and the resale value is much better.

I've been doing some more research and am considering the Yani B901. Thoughts on this versus the SA80II and YBS-52?

If you want impeccable quality, the Yani is the way to go.
