Conn tenor sax identification

I was given my deceased father in laws sax.  I am taking it to a technician this week.  I am hoping to know more about it before I make that trip.  Additionally, I will be curious to know the value of the sax compared to any possible repairs.  Thanks

    Re: Conn tenor sax identification

From the serial number this looks to be a late Conn 10M transitional horn (transition between the Conn New Wonder II (Chu) model and the 10M).  The photo of the serial number area shows some burnishing of the patent number, so it looks to have been buffed and relacquered, which does reduce the value of the horn.
But the good news is that this looks to be one of the highly valued Conns, that often sell on this site between $1700 and maybe $2000 in fully refubished condition with new pads.

    Very nice horn!

Thanks for the info.  It is in need of a full set of pads. Other than that it is in great condition. I am having the work done and looking forward to starting lessons
