New hard case and vintage Martin. Is it a match made in heaven?

Or not.

My friend said that vintage alto or tenor seldom fits to new hard case. Should i buy soft case or does someone know better? Please suggest which one is best for the reasonable budget since I need cases to alto, tenor and baritone low Bb.

Which one you choosed, hard or soft and why.

Im lousy amateur so not much travellin except when I give hard time to my poor teacher...

Thanks for your time!

There are some hard cases that will fit many of the vintage horns, but you would have to provide at a minimum, the make and the serial number of the alto and the tenor.  If this makes you nervous, simply use XXX for the last three digits.  Example: if a serial number is 277811 you could write 277XXX and that should be enough information.

Here is a link to a spreadsheet for saxophone case compatibility.  To use the spreadsheet, go to the lower left corner of the sheet to select alto, tenor, etc.  Then find your model and see what cases should fit it.
