Vandoren ZZs

I've been playing on V16s forever and I was wondering how the ZZs compare.

    Re: Vandoren ZZs

I'm hooked on Alexanders now, but when I was using Vandorens and tried the ZZs I strongly disliked them. 2 of them split in half while I was playing them. They run pretty thin, and they sound dead compared to the other Vandorens. I don't think they have as much heart as the V16s or Javas.

Hey guy's just me expressing my opinion. I personally look for a darker sound and love the Java's, but the first time I tried the ZZ's woah bright bright briiight!!!!!!!!

yeah, i agree with golferguy. i only bought one box of ZZs and never again. i play now v16 3's on tenor yamaha custom 82z unlacquered and an ottolink 7 metal. gives me a crazy awesome tone.

yeah the only problem is vandoren doesnt make any other jazz cuts than the zz's for bari. and i dont play anything other than vandoren. so zz's for bari are great but for alto and tenor i agree that javas and v16s are way better.
