CA 1927 Elkhart Horn - Decorator Piece or Diamond in the Rough?

Hi there,

I picked up this Elkhart Inst. Co. LP alto horn, and I'm now trying to sort out whether it would be worth repairing. A long time ago, in Flagstaff, I had the Martin (Elkhart) horn stolen from the back seat of my car that was given to me as a child by my grandfather and I always had a dream of getting another one (or finding the one he gave me again). Even if this isn't the right one, it sure felt good to put a horn back in my hand and find the keys returning to the fingers today.

Thank you for considering.

It's missing its neck octave key and maybe more of the octave mechanism.  It could be a parts horn for someone into restoring old Elkharts.  They have their fans.
