    Re: Voll tru mechanism question

    1. make sure the spring on the lever that activates  the neck key is allowing it to lift, and not pushing down instead. When you depress the G pearl, this should simply relieve the presser and allow it to flip up. In other words is the spring tension going the wrong direction.

    2. increase the amount of tension that spring gives.

    3. Decrease the tension on the neck flat spring that actually hold the neck key closed when the octave key is not depressed. often this wont allow the lever to lift it.

    4. The lever that goes to the neck is binding. It does not roll smoothly without any friction on the upper stacksteel rod screw . An ice pick is one of my most functional tools for smoothing out burrs that can make a key no move smoothly. Insert ice pick firmly into the end of that key that has tension.
