C melody pads?

Hi, I am a violinist that wants to get into saxophone, and the logical choice is a C melody so I don’t have to transpose. I found one for sale that I really like, but the pads look kinda nasty. For a C melody, would I have to get specific pads or are any pads ok?

    Re: C melody pads?

If your looking to have a vintage horn play correctly, you need the right size pads. At minimal, the correct thickness. Each cup shoould be measured for specific pad diameter.

    Conn-Conn Reso Pads.

Buescher- Buescher snap in pads if the snap in resonators are intact.

In other words, yes, the correct pads are somewhat necessary to have it play at its best.

    Good Luck
