Replacement thumb hook to stop soreness

I've played tenor since 5th grade but I've recently picked up the bari for marching band. Last year, my thumb ached for the whole season and I'm dreading it again this year. It wasn't digging in to my skin or anything like that. The literal weight of the bari was too much to support. Is there any thumb hooks that wrap around your whole hand for better support?

Rather than looking into a thumbrest, look into getting a shoulder/harness strap. These distribute the weight more to your shoulders than your neck, but the added benefit is they are sturdier straps. You really shouldn't have much (or any) weight on your thumb, that should just be for balance and controlling the position of the horn.
