Mouthpiece??

We bought a used sax for our 10 yr son to save on rentals. It's a Yamaha YAS-21.  Our son says its harder to play than his rental.  Why Would a different alto sax be harder to play?  The reed he uses is 2.5.

    The rental would be set up, meaning working properly, prior to renting it out.

    If you dont know the history of the used instrument or it hasn't been looked over by a repair technician, it may have an adjustment or two needed to play as well as his previous rental. The yamaha is about the best student sax out there.
