Just got a conn and need info.

I just bought a conn tenor from a pawn shop. It's in good playing shape. anyway it is stampped with a 16m and just below that is the s/n L01400 Can anyone tell me what that number means? what year and where it was made? any info would be helpfull. Thanks Dave

    It's a 1968 Conn 16M tenor, also called the Director's model. These were a very popular student-intermediate model horn. They play very well, and have good intonation and sound. This horn was one of the last Conn saxophones still made in Elkhart, IN. Sounds like a nice horn! Good luck! Jim
