Vintage Berg & Modern Berg ...

If it's all in Metal , S.Steel , in the same condition ( for example : 110 / 2 SMS ) , what's the differient between the Vintage one& the Modern one ? And other thing , do anyone know Modern Berg using a Bullet chamber or a Drop Bill ? THX

    by drop bill i Assume you mean duck bill, and they started re-issueing pieces with that design a few years back, same for the bullet chambers. Differences in vintage pieces and modern pieces would include the composition of the materials, the refining process has changed over the years. also, the pieces are much more machine made, and not hand finished to the same level of old, so there is a lot of inconsistency in the pieces now. For example, I have a 90/1/M in hard rubber(alto) that I bought new, actually measures a .083 instead of .090 like it should. aside from that, "technically" its still the same old berg and the same old berg sound, but most players say its not. They still sound pretty good and a good one plays fantastically
