Buescher C Melody Sax 1920

A person told me the C Melody Buescher sax I have from 1920 is neither an alto sax nor a tenor sax. Is that correct?

perfectly correct. A C melody is a C melody. Its pitched in concert C whereas an alto is in Eb and tenor Bb and the c mel is smaller then a tenor but bigger then alto Dave
