C.G. CONN Gold Plate Art Deco Chu Berry (Serial Number: 239919) Back to model

This is an awesome example of a Gold Plated Art Deco Chu Berry Tenor Saxophone.  It has a pretty late Chu Berry serial number of 239919.  The original Gold Plating is in incredible shape standing at right about 99%.  There is some minor wear to be found in the usual touch places.  This horn is in perfect playing condition, and is a monster!!!

It was set up in 2011 by Saxquest master saxophone technician George Bunk, and is currently on display in the Saxquest Saxophone Museum in St. Louis Missouri.  George did his usual professional saxophone overhaul which included brand new top of the line Valentino pads, Resotech resonators, new corks and felts, and full key regulation.

The action on this guy is lightning fast, and it has one of the best feels you will ever find on a vintage Conn.  It has a really inviting warm, dark tone.  The response is very quick too.  Its quite a bit quicker than most Conn Chu Berrys that we have played in the past.  The tone is a bit more focussed too.  This is a great example of what a near mint Conn Gold Plate Conn Chu Berry should look and play like.
