C.G. CONN Nickel Plate Chu Berry (Serial Number: 227703) Back to model

This is a sax you don’t see every day. It’s a late Conn Chu Berry tenor sax, serial number 227703, in original nickel plate. It’s a very unique saxophone with over 95% original finish remaining.

Physically, this sax is in just incredible condition. The only wear is on a couple touch points and rods. There are just a couple VERY minor dings in the bottom bow. Best of all, the action remains very crisp and fluid. Add to all this the rolled tone holes, and you’ve got a very desired instrument!

The first thing you notice when you play is the ease of this instrument. The sax responds immediately to the air stream. It’s extremely free blowing. The sound has a darker sonority because of the nickel plating, but the tone is still slightly spread and really fills up a room. To top it off, it retains that great Conn flexibility in sound and control. This is an incredible looking and sounding instrument.
