This is a sweet vintage Conn “transitional” 6M alto sax, serial number 257986. This horn is simply gorgeous and is a real nice player.

Physically, this alto is about as nice as you’ll find. The original silver matte finish is well over 98% intact with just minimal wear on a couple keys. There are no dents or dings, no resoldered joints, and no signs of any past work. The original double socket neck, with underslung octave key, is likewise in fantastic shape.

The horn plays with a real warm velvety texture, with a nice spread characteristic.
